More than ever people are looking for value for money. And for the standard of dental care and the cost it makes a lot of sense to travel abroad.
Obviously if you just need one crown or a single tooth removed it is not gong to appeal as much as if you need fairly extensive top end dental work because you are talking about a few days away. But the standard of work of the dentists we recommend in Budapest is fantastic and we find people have no problems afterwards.
Budapest is only a two-hour flight away. It’s a lovely city where eating and entertainment are also fairly inexpensive.
We will make sure that you avoid all the possible pitfalls of going abroad for dental treatment:

The soaring cost of getting teeth fixed in the UK has created a boom in dental tourism for a growing number who can’t get treatment on the NHS and don’t want — or cannot afford — to pay big bills for going private.
Eastern Europe and especially Hungary are cashing in on the growing market because of their low-cost, high-quality dental care.
Apart from the sky-high cost of private dentistry in the UK, the shocking statistic that seven million Brits can’t find an NHS dentist is fuelling the rush to get troublesome gnashers fixed at foreign clinics.
Some Hungarian clinics offer 70 per cent savings over UK dental prices. Extractions cost around £28, root canal work about £100, crowns £173 and dental implants £665.
A recent survey by the Citizens Advice Bureau found 7.4million Brits had tried and failed to find an NHS dentist in the past two years. And a third of the population have not been for a dental check-up in the past year.
Horror stories of people pulling out their own teeth with pliers have multiplied.
A few examples:
59-year-old Ernie Whittle from Blackpool, Lancs, who lost most of his upper teeth due to the thyroid disorder Graves disease.
He couldn’t afford to have the work done in the UK but was worried about the standard of dentistry abroad.
Reassured that the clinics in Hungary were professional, he had eight implants, two sinus elevations and 14 crowns for a total cost of £8,000 — an estimated saving of £17,500.
Linda Williamson, 44, from Ashington, Northumberland, was worried about her stained and broken teeth. She went to Hungary and had six dental implants, seven root canal treatments, an extraction and 25 crowns for £9,700 — saving around £22,000 at current UK prices.
For the millions of people struggling to find an NHS dentist, health experts advise going private and getting dental insurance to cover the cost.
There are numerous firms on the internet with most policies covering crowns, root canal work, bridges, dentures and other laboratory work. But most policies set maximum payouts for any 12-month period and some only pay 75 per cent of the treatment costs. And the Government’s recent introduction of dental contracts appears to have meant even more people still don’t see a dentist.
